On 19 October 2016, the Attorney-General launched the Model Parenting Orders Handbook, Parenting orders: what you need to know.
The Handbook was developed by family law expert Professor Richard Chisholm AM and the Attorney-General’s Department, with the assistance of stakeholders in the family law system. It will be an invaluable resource for separating parents, legal practitioners and other professionals within the family law system, in preparing clear and practical parenting orders. Above all else, we hope it will assist parents to develop parenting orders that focus on the best interests of their children.
The Handbook is primarily an online resource, and it is intended that practitioners will generally guide clients to the online version or provide them with copies of relevant extracts. However, we recognise that it will be helpful for practitioners to have a personal hardcopy to work from with clients.
We recently distributed limited copies of the Handbook to Legal Aid Commissions, Community Legal Centres, and Family Relationship Centres. We are now seeking information about the number of practitioners in each Family Law Pathway Network who require a copy of the Handbook. We will use this information to inform the numbers for our second print run.
I would be grateful if you could please let me know the number of copies required by your membership by COB 22 December 2016. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org
